Global Entrepreneurship Week: YBR events

In the framework of the Global Entrepreneurship Week, several “Youth Business Russia” events were held in Voronezh, Vladivostok and Kaluga.

How to help young entrepreneurs? What promotes successful business development? These and a lot of other questions were brought up by the participants of the Round Table “From Idea to Innovative Business”, held on 15 November at the premises of Kaluga Regional Government. The event was supported by Youth Parliament of Kaluga Regional Legislative Assembly, regional office of “Youth Business Russia” programme, Ministry of the Development of Information Society and Innovations of Kaluga Region, Kaluga Agency for Support of Small and Medium-Size Business, and consulting agency “A-Liniya”. Following the review and discussion of several issues of youth participation in entrepreneurial activity and regional innovative development, the participants of the round table came to the conclusion that the problems with youth entrepreneurship development do not only lie in lack of finance and special knowledge and experience with establishment and development of own company, but in low level of young people’s information awareness of existing methods of support for youth entrepreneurship as well. The participants prepared recommendations for official authorities and all interested parties that promote business development and support young entrepreneurs. Natalia Shigapova, YBR regional coordinator in Kaluga, suggested that all participants of the round table take advantage of the programme on informing young entrepreneurs on available support tools.

The regular meeting of the YBR Programme Participants Club was held on 17 November in the conference hall of “Voronezh Regional Resources Centre” in Voronezh Region. Vladimir Vanin, the coacher of Nizhny Novgorod affiliate of US-Russia Centre for Entrepreneurship conducted the seminars “Marketing for Entrepreneurs. Creative Approach to Customer Acquisition and Market Penetration” and “Cash Flow Management for Company Growth” for young entrepreneurs and their mentors who are experienced in small and medium-size business. At the seminar, the participants learned about innovative, cost-effective and efficient marketing methods able to acquire customers and sweep the market. The second seminar demonstrated the methods of managing cash flow issues, inevitable for a growing company. The young entrepreneurs enjoyed the seminar, since even after it was over, no-one was in a hurry to leave, but all continued reflecting on the topics of the seminar and asking questions. It is to Vladimir Vanin’s credit that he was not taken unawares with any of the questions, since he is an active and successful entrepreneur and has set up his business from the ground up.

On the same day, 17 November, the Second meeting of the Young Entrepreneurs Club was held in Vladivostok, that included presentation of achievements and trends of YBR programme, that has been working in Vladivostok for one year already. During presentation, Svetlana Bazhenova, programme coordinator in Primorsky Territory, spoke about Global Entrepreneurship Week, YBR programme, the programme mechanisms, loan terms, programme implementation and trends in Vladivostok. Among the participants were programme members who have already received support, as well as members of the Selection Panel. IgorFrolov, Director of Innovations Department of the Far East Federal University (DVFU) told about the Theory of Inventive Problem Solving (TRIZ), its basic ideas and tools, methods of Inventive Problem solving, and how TRIZ can help to train creative imagination thus facilitating business development. Alexander Kulikov presented developments for global and individual business. Ikommersant.ru (e-commerce) is a naturally determined stage in evolution of business processes in modern world, as it meets key requirements of business which are quickness, effectiveness and safety. The basic idea and project slogan is «Your work is always with you».
