Workshop on advanced compliance techniques

IBLF’s next meeting on “Improving Business standards in Russian Business” series will take place on 6 October 2011 from 10 am till 13 pm at the office of PwC, Moscow and will take the form of an interactive workshop focused on developing advanced compliance techniques.

Compliance managers are often faced with “difficult” conversations with employees, especially with those on the front-line commercial positions which are most exposed to fraudulent behavior. There may be a lack of acceptance of the overall principles of compliance, or a poor understanding of what constitutes going against the rules, especially in “grey areas” such as gifts, or unfamiliarity with management expectation such as whistle-blowing or use of hot-lines. Compliance managers are sometimes also faced with difficult conversations with the top managers of their company, who may be senior in age, experience, and rank.

This session will deal with how compliance managers can develop their powers of persuasion to develop the clearest and most convincing arguments in favor of clean business. During the meeting we’ll divide the participants into groups who will engage in role-playing (for example the discussion between compliance manager and the commercial manager about a highly controversial and challenging situation). As usual in IBLF’s workshops, there will be an opportunity to learn from your peers and network with fellow top professionals working in the fraud risk management and anti-corruption arena in Russian and multinational companies.

The meeting is supported by PwC and Siemens. It is is intended for Chief Compliance Officers, Chief or Senior Legal Counsels, Heads of Internal Audit, Directors of Human Resources, and any other function responsible for managing the risks and protecting the reputation of the company. The meeting is free of charge and will be held in Russian language only.
