CEO YBR and Mentoring Institute Boris Tkachenko worked together with his colleagues of MOST Business Incubator on July 23-26 in Almaty

On the 23rd of July, Boris took part in a press conference summarizing 3-month Acceleration Programme implemented by MOST Business Incubator in the framework of JastarBusiness project together with Citi Foundation and YBI. “Over 100 startups representing 9 federal regions decided to join the programme this year. However only 47 passed through the rigorous selection process. Then 20 teams had to leave the programme since they have failed to show required progress during the first half of the programme term”, - as explained by Alim Khamitov, MOST Business Incubator Director. 

“Citi mission is to support economic growth and progress worldwide. We support Jastar Business project in Kazakhstan. We witness setup of new interesting projects and are happy to promote local youth entrepreneurship.” – Andrey Kurilin, Chairman of the Management Board of Citibank Kazakhstan reported. At the conference it was announced that the new stage of Jastar Business project, mentoring, was being launched in August. MOST Business Incubator, as YBI member, is implementing it on the basis of Youth Business International global methodology. Boris Tkachenko together with his colleagues at MOST will coach mentors and mentees.

Business Incubator MOST closed the Acceleration Programme on a positive note. Summarizing the results of the programme, closing expert sessions were held that included private meetings between experienced and budding entrepreneurs. On the 23rd of July, Demo Day took place, a bright show with the participants presenting their projects to the jury. The first prize was awarded to Pillowz team for online accommodation booking platform designed for business and private tours inside the country. The second prize was given to a startup, the Russian Language School, professional online and offline teaching for Kazakh-speakers and foreigners. The holder of the third prize was Jobs Educations, a learning online platform for training and recruitment with the focus on the clients with special needs. The special prize in the form of a sponsor’s gift provided by KunTech was given to a startup SmartEcoBox, the youngest entrepreneur who had produced a device for automatic processing of organic wastes into enzymes and compost. It is with sincere pleasure that YBR congratulates all graduates of the Acceleration Programme!

On July 24-26, the fourth round of the Mentoring Programme of Youth Business Kazakhstan (YBK), started in the framework of JastarBusiness project. The programme is being implemented by MOST Business Incubator together with Citi Foundation and YBI. The trainings for mentors, experienced entrepreneurs, and beginners took place in Almaty, including 26 mentees and 13 mentors. The programme members learned about mentoring nuances from Alim Khamitov, Director of MOST Business Incubator, and Dinara Babich, educational and mentoring programmes manager and Boris Tkachenko.
