Mentor Forum on the 26th of September in Ulyanovsk Region

The plenary meeting of the 2nd Mentor Regional Forum «I work, therefore I am», timed to coincide with the Mentor Day of Ulyanovsk Region was held on the 26th of September. The Forum collected over 300 regional operating mentors representing all industries (education, healthcare, manufacturing, culture, transport, management, social activity, service sector etc.). The best practices in mentoring that were tested this year and delivered strong performance were described at the meeting. The mentors from Ulyanovsk Region learnt about new trends of effective mentoring development. The conference was finished off with the award gala ceremony on the results of the 2nd regional contest “The Best Mentor of the Ulyanovsk Region”.

Anatoly Ozernov, the 1st Deputy Governor of Ulyanovsk Region/Chief of the Staff of the Governor, welcomed the participants and spoke about forming the environment for mentoring development in Ulyanovsk Region.

Boris Tkachenko, global expert in mentoring, CEO of Mentoring Institute, International Business Leaders Forum and Youth Business Russia, member of Youth Business International (YBI) International Network Strategy Implementation Steering Team, moderated the forum and spoke about international and Russian experience in mentoring in entrepreneurship.

The subject of mentor’s role in improvement of social elevators for youth (skill formation for modern economy) was covered by Ilya Semin, director of Professional training 2.0, Deputy Chairman of the Commission on Economic Development, Entrepreneurship, Service Sector and Consumer Market at the Civic Chamber of the Russian Federation. On the sidelines of the forum the partnership agreements were signed between Ulyanovsk Regional government and International Business Leaders Forum, and between Ulyanovsk Regional government and NGO Russia – the Land of Opportunity.
